Cheshire

Cheshire is an attractive and affluent county with beautiful countryside, just south of the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Its twenty or so caravan parks are handily placed for static caravan owners to be able to explore the south of England, Wales to the west, and Scotland and the Lake District to the north, with its own major tourist centre in the beautiful walled city of Chester.
Though Chester is a delightful mix of exclusive stores, excellent dining and vibrant nightlife, mobile home holidaymakers will never forget that this modern, exciting city has been shaped by 2,000 years of history. Completely encircled by city walls, Chester’s most unique feature is the Thirteenth Century ‘Rows’ – two tiers of enticing shops, running through the main streets. Destinations for history hunters include the beautiful Gothic Cathedral and Britain’s largest Roman Amphitheatre, built to entertain 7,000 spectators.
In rural Cheshire static caravan tourists will find towns and villages aplenty with ‘magpie-style’ black and white half-timbered buildings, Norman castles, Iron Age Hill Forts and ancient ivy-covered churches amongst beautiful fields and scenery. Rural Cheshire is a great place for bird-watching where you can see swans and other water birds in the Dee estuary in the north. To the south are Shropshire’s rolling hills, and to the east are the breathtaking flatlands of the Cheshire Plain. Static caravan holidaymakers that love walking as well as horse- and bike-riding will thoroughly enjoy Cheshire’s cycle trails, beautiful walks, medieval bridges and bridle paths, and those most passionate about these hobbies would do well to place a log cabin in this county.
