Conwy

In the north of Wales, Conwy’s compelling mountain ranges, tranquil lakes and wild moorland provide the ultimate picturesque backdrop stretching back hundreds of years to an awesome past. Over 60 caravan parks allow mobile home holidaymakers and log cabin owners to enjoy the area’s many spectacular attractions. One of the finest of these is Conwy Castle, a dark stoned fortress with an authentic medieval atmosphere, standing on a rock above the Conwy Estuary and demanding as much attention as the peaks of Snowdonia behind it. Conwy was built by the English King Edward I in the Thirteenth Century as one of the key fortresses in his ‘Iron Ring’ of castles to contain the Welsh.
For static caravan owners that enjoy walking through beautiful scenery, the Conwy Valley begins at the Conwy Falls above its convergence with the river Lledr near Betws-y-Coed, the eastern gateway of Snowdonia. Here it is joined by several tributaries creating for walkers a series of spectacular waterfalls before emerging from steep sided mountain valleys into tranquil Conwy Vale. Throughout the Conwy Vale there are many historical places of interest for mobile home holidaymakers – iron-age villages, hut circles and standing stones, Roman forts, medieval churches, Edwardian and Victorian buildings. Britain’s smallest house lies in Conwy, and stands only 3 metres from ground to ceiling. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is a great attraction for families, with the full range of exotic animals to observe and admire.
