East Sussex

Static caravan owners looking for something to do in East Sussex are spoiled for choice, and many are already taking advantage of this at one of over fifty caravan sites. Mobile home holiday makers can choose from historical sites, zoos and fun parks, parks and scenic reserves, and down at the famous seaside resort of Brighton, there is shopping, vibrant nightlife, and seaside activities such as swimming and sailing.
The county of East Sussex in the south east of England has a special place in the history of England, and a log cabin or mobile home holiday is the perfect way to situate yourself to travel back in time through some of England's most important dates. According to legend, the Saxon Ella landed here in 477, defeated the inhabitants and founded the kingdom of Sussex. But it is the year 1066 which gave this area its greatest claim to fame, when the Battle of Hastings was fought and the Norman King William triumphed over King Harold. The site of the Battle of Hastings is at Senlac Hill near the appropriately-named town of Battle. The whole of this area is now known as 1066 Country. But the wealth of places to visit in East Sussex is a long list. A fabulous fifteenth century castle stands at Herstmonceux, and the famous 'Long Man' chalk hill figure is carved into the turf above Wilmington. Romney Marsh is one of the county's famous natural features. Other famous landmarks of East Sussex include the Greenwich Royal Observatory and the castles at Hastings, Lewes, Pevensey and Bodiam. For mobile home holidaymakers with children there is, amongst other things, Drusilla's Park with exotic animals, Paradise Park dinosaur safari, and the exciting Smugglers adventure, with thrilling tunnels and caverns.
