Somerset

Somerset is a large county with an impressive 70 caravan sites, all clearly placed to take advantages of the innumerable exciting attractions and spectacular scenery the county has to offer. Somerset is famous for Cheddar Cheese (and Cheddar Gorge), its cider and Somerset cricket club which accommodated Ian Botham throughout most of his career. Somerset contains no cities but has some wonderful market towns, including the famous town of Bath. Bath is named so due to its Roman Baths, fed by one of Bath’s three natural hot springs. The baths are remarkably complete and were excavated in 1878. Mobile home holidaymakers can relax and enjoy the soothing baths after a long day exploring Somerset’s other exciting attractions.
One of Somerset's main places of pilgrimage is the mystical and magical Glastonbury - possibly the location of Avalon in the King Arthur legends, with the medieval tower of the church of St Michael perched high upon its impressive Tor. The spectacular Wookey Hole caves and attractions feature Britain’s most spectacular underground caverns. Static caravan and log cabin owners that love to walk will be pleased to know that Somerset holds much of the Exmoor National Park, with the highest cliffs in Britain, and nearby the rivers Barle and the Exe wind through wooded valleys, perfect for spectacular hikes. Other attractions in the area for mobile home holidaymakers include the fascinating water-operated cliff railway between Lynton and Lynmouth, and Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey, where Samuel Coleridge wrote The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
